John Bippus Announces Candidacy for 59th District State Rep.
(THREE RIVERS) John Bippus, 54, of Three Rivers has officially filed his candidacy for state representative with Michigan’s Secretary of State. “One year from now, the voters of the 59th District will decide primary candidates for the general election to replace term-limited State Rep. Matt Lori,” Bippus said. “I have been talking to people all across Cass and St. Joseph Counties, listening carefully to their concerns and letting them know I will be an honest, effective, and responsive representative of all the people of the 59th district.”
Bippus states, jobs, schools, roads and public safety are on everyone’s top ten list of important issues. “People are also concerned about government overreach, and issues of privacy and personal liberty,” says the Three Rivers native.
“My family and I have launched a number of successful businesses in this district,” says Bippus. “I know how to start a business and create jobs. I understand the hard work required to grow and sustain small business, and I can help the people of this district and the State of Michigan on a path of job growth and economic recovery. Job creation will be my top priority. “
Another important focus for Bippus will be the education of Michigan’s youth. “Because of my community college involvement and my wife’s profession as a public school teacher, I do understand the vital importance of educating and inspiring young minds,” says Bippus. “I will work closely with district educators to make sure our schools are a legislative priority.”
Currently, Bippus is the chair of the St. Joseph County Road Commission and a member of the Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees. He is a past chairman of the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners. At the state level Bippus is the President of the Michigan Guardianship Association. He is also the author of an inspiring book titled “The Secret of Your Success.”
Bippus and his wife Sharon live on Kaiser Lake in Fabius Township not far from the Cass County line. He is the President of BippusUSA.com, a national recognized real estate auction firm.
Bippus is seeking the GOP nomination for state representative in the August 2014 Republican primary.
